Melbourne Skydeck puts you 285 metres above Southbank, and the lift gets you there in about 38 seconds. What takes longer is everything before the lift — ticketing, security, the shuffle at the desk — which is why the booking decision matters more than most people expect, especially around sunset.

Eureka Tower itself is 297.3 metres. It was Melbourne’s tallest building from 2006 until Australia 108 overtook it, also in Southbank, at over 316 metres. Eureka is now Melbourne’s second-tallest and Australia’s third, behind Q1 on the Gold Coast. Australia 108 has no public deck, so Eureka still holds the view.
From Level 88 you get a full 360-degree sweep: the Dandenong Ranges on one side, Port Phillip Bay on the other, and on a clear day sightlines running up to 75 kilometres.

Tickets are single entry. Walk out and that’s it for the day, unless you add the Sun & Stars upgrade for $10, which lets you return within 36 hours on general admission only. If you want daylight and city lights on the same trip without staying put for hours, buy that upgrade at the start.

The Edge is the one people talk about: a glass cube that projects roughly three metres out from the building, floor included. It runs on its own virtual queue, so waits swing by day, and you can’t reserve a time.
Phones and loose items stay outside; a photographer captures the moment. It occasionally closes for scheduled maintenance, so check before paying for a package built around it.
Voyager Theatre is an 11-minute 6-D experience across 24 pod seats, running through iconic Melbourne and Victorian moments — a Luna Park roller coaster, the Melbourne Cup, and more. It’s the better choice for kids not ready for the glass cube.
