As you travel deep in Springbrook Queensland, you will leave the lush rainforest and find a number of spectacular waterfalls and natural formations that are almost unbelievable. This beautiful region is a short drive from the Gold Coast and can offer a whole day of vibrant wilderness and And nature with amazing wildlife walking on soft moss paths, unforgettable views of natural bridge glow worms, and an underground sandstone cave that lights up too.
As the environment plunges you into the forest canopy, layers of green filter the sunlight, and the sound of a far-off rumbling body of water gets louder and louder until you will be rewarded with your first experience of Springbrook’s combinations of natural wonders. Underneath Springbrook waterfalls (certainly Twin Falls), you feel the cooling mist on your skin; the spray refracting the light into beautiful tiny rainbows. Before you even start walking, you know you are in for yet another powerful mixture of sensory enjoyment and contemplation about the universe.
Discovering Twin Falls and Mossy Gully
Beginning with an easy walk along fern lined tracks towards Twin Falls, one of Springbrook’s better-known waterfalls, you can see and feel moisture rising from the rock walls draped with bright green moss, and smell the damp earth and new leaves. Once at the lookout you can see the twin waterfalls tumbling out some distance before you, then all of a sudden, step by step, the total volume of springbirding gently pushes its way between the ancient trees and transcend the rocks tumbling down into the stream.

Chasing Waterfalls Through Lush Trails
As we move along the trail it widens into a forest corridor, which takes you to more waterfalls on Springbrook walking through trees. The creek is now winding through granite stones toward another waterfall that then goes into a clear pool. It is all so beautiful here—it’s nature’s effortlessness of art.
The waterfalls are drenched in unique plant life, from giant eucalypts to furry orchids, accompanied by the occasional bird call—maybe a plover or crimson rosella—which provides soft undercurrents of sound during a peaceful stroll. There’s no rush, each step is an opportunity to halt, listen, and marvel.
