Located on the grounds of the former fortified military base in Australia, the Darwin Military Museum offers a compelling journey through World War II history. The 'Defence of Darwin' exhibit, established in 2012 to mark the 70th anniversary of the Bombing of Darwin, provides an engaging experience that transports visitors back to the pivotal day of 19th February 1942. Immersive displays, including audio accounts and authentic footage from the bombings, bring this historical event to life.
Explore the expansive gardens adorned with a variety of military vehicles and historic artillery pieces. A highlight of the museum is the impressive 9.2β gun displayed in the gun replacement section.
