If you have Reserved Entry or Dome tickets, ensure you have your QR codes for entry and activating the audio guide.
Avoid bringing large bags, suitcases, or food and drinks. Only small backpacks or personal bags are allowed.
Leave out food, drinks, smoking paraphernalia, and pets during your visit.
Remember that infants and pets are not allowed inside the premises.
No flash photography, tripods, or filming equipment allowed. Non-flash photography is permitted.
The Dome tour includes a steep climb of up to 551 steps and may not be suitable for certain visitors. Avoid if you are pregnant, have mobility issues, heart conditions, claustrophobia, or vertigo.
Note that the tour is not wheelchair accessible.
Expect airport-style security checks for all visitors.
At the main entrance, there are two queues: one for free entry and another for reserved entry. Opting for reserved entry allows you to skip the free entry line.
Even with skip-the-line access, brief waits may occur during peak hours due to mandatory security checks.
Dress modestly by avoiding shorts, mini skirts, or sleeveless tops.
For reserved entry, arrive at least 45 minutes early for security clearance, especially during busy periods.
The audio guide is accessible via smartphone only, so remember to bring earphones and ensure your device is charged.
Children must be at least 6 years old to participate, and those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Papal Tombs are not available for 6 pm entries; only the Basilica will be open.
Keep in mind that the Basilica and/or Dome may close unexpectedly for religious ceremonies, with alternative arrangements provided.
Special access from the Sistine Chapel to the Basilica is not offered on Wednesdays and during major events such as Easter.
