Imu & Imu ceremony: Imus are traditional subterranean ovens utilized in cooking, particularly during luaus or joyous occasions. The imu is readied by excavating a pit, heating rocks inside, layering it with plants and food, and finally sealing it to cook slowly. The Imu ceremony involves uncovering the pit, removing the cooked food, and preparing it for the luau, showcasing the ancient culinary art in action.
