If you’ve walked around Osaka’s Dotonbori, you know it’s full of flashy signs and street food. But hidden among all that is a little museum with a big story. The Namikiza Museum takes you back to when this area was the beating heart of Kabuki and Bunraku theater.
It’s not huge, but it feels personal , just like stepping into a theater from centuries ago. You’ll learn about Shozo Namiki, one of the great Kabuki playwrights, and you can even try a revolving stage or snap a photo in a Kabuki costume if you’re up for it.
