For security reasons, avoid bringing large bags, rucksacks, or suitcases (30L or larger) inside.
Please note that pets are not permitted inside the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
Remember that photography is not allowed inside the State Apartments.
Discovering Edinburgh with a Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour
This tour is accessible for wheelchair users.
Wheelchairs should not exceed 70cm in width, 120cm in length, and 135cm in height to board the bus. Contact the provider if you need clarification.
Keep in mind that each bus can only accommodate one wheelchair at a time. Please wait for the next bus if one is already occupied.

This experience is wheelchair and pram/stroller accessible, with some exceptions in Mary, Queen of Scots' rooms.
Guide dogs are welcome at the Palace.

Palace of Holyroodhouse Information
The Palace will be open on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, but closed on Christmas Day.
Due to being a working royal palace, security and opening hours at the Palace of Holyroodhouse are subject to change without much advance notice.
Note that the palace is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
